Stitch and Bitch Amman

Mandalicious

One of my favourite blogs – though not being updated anymore – is Crochet with Raymond: The mad adventures of a lesbi@n hooker and her siamese cat!

And its from Crochet with Raymond that the inspiration came for what has now surely become the longest running project in stitch and bitch history….

 Mandala – Mandalicious:

First, gather together all the wool in the house that you don’t know what to do with.

Then, build yourself a crochet circle. Crochet with Raymond has very good instructions for this.

The circle could either continue expanding outwards forever and ever (apparently Mandala means ‘circle’ in Sanskrit) or you can give it corners, and thereby transforming it into a Granny Mandala – Grandala!  I again followed Crochet with Raymond’s pattern for granny squares, and just kept on expanding the square….

And expanding….

And expanding….

The nice thing is that its turned into one of those projects that any of the bitches pick up and carry on.  The joint community mandala. A Commu-Jandala??
